We emigrated from the UK in 2007 to the Sunshine Coast in Australia. Emigrating to the other side of the world (literally) with 2 young children was not exactly easy. Saying Goodbye to family was the hardest. Our family often come to stay – which is wonderful. The main reason for the move was that our son, Sam has asthma and eczema. A hotter climate can (not always) improve asthma. It was a gamble that paid off, Sam is a different boy.
My boys are totally different personality wise. Harry is a sensitive boy, who likes to spend his time colouring and learning. Dont misunderstand me, he needs a lot of attention. He also has a love for trampolining and cycling and screaming. Yes, thats right, screaming when he gets excited. Harry is a boy who likes to way things or people up before he makes his own opinion or decides whether he wants to play. Sam is like a bull in a china shop. He wades in feet first. Sam loves to spend his time climbing trees or getting in places where he shouldn’t be.
Buster is a Brick Layer who seems to be turning more and more Australian each day with his laid back attitude. Just waiting for the day that he says ‘throw a shrimp on the Barby Sheila’, I am sure its not far away. He is growing his hair at the moment (he looks more like a girl than me, he he).
Me, I am just happy to be part of this family. At times it can be trying , but the rewards outway the trying times. Motherhood must be suiting me because I am wanting to do it all over again. Wish us luck!
