Mother’s Day Gifts

Not long ago it was Mothers Day here in Australia and at my son Harrys school they take in up to $5 and go to a Mothers Day stall within the school and get to choose Mother’s Day Gifts. Harry loves this, he gets really excited by the fact that he is doing it without the aid of me or his Dad. Granted, he does struggle a bit keeping what Mother’s Day Gifts he has chosen a secret until the day, but this year he did manage pretty well.

He chose me a compact make up that included blush and eye make up. Harry had a reason for his choice of Mother’s Day Gifts though. He wanted to play make up and hairdresser salons and guess who were his customers – Me and Buster! I did not have the heart to say no, he was really excited about it. So on Mothers day Buster and I sat on the toy box. Harry set to work on me and Sam set to work on Buster. I figured if I got Harry with him being that much older it might not go everywhere, hmmm.

The kids loved it, Harry was talking to me like I was a customer. Watching the concentration on their faces close up whilst they were engaged was great. Heres the end result:

Worlds Best Make Up Palour!

What do you think – pretty cool eh?

The idea of the make up came to Harry because as Mother’s Day Gifts to all Moms at Harrys school they did a spa day. This was fantastic. All the kids got to give their Moms a massage, paint their nails (every one of my nails were a different colour), make up their face and style hair and also had hand cream applied. Our children also brought their Mom a glass of champagne (this was a plastic cup filled with orange and lemonade). I absolutely loved this, as did Harry. The school went to a lot of trouble, but I must say it was one of the Mother’s Day Gifts that I will always remember.
