Motion Sickness Remedy – needed for a swing!

chair swing tickI know this sounds crazy but I got terrible motion sickness last week from a swing. It was not a normal swing though – one of those merry-go-round ones that you get at the fair (I have included a photo of one I have found that looks similar – forgot my camera on the day). We went to Aussie World with my parents and until now Harry has never wanted to go on the swings. Well, this day with the persuassion of Grandma and Grandad he decided that he would go on the swings, the condition being that his Mom went on with him. Thanks Grandma and Grandad!

I was not worried about going on the ride, there were lots of youngsters on there including Harry’s 4 year old brother who wanted to go on with us, how bad could it be? It was awful! I felt so sick after, I had to close my eyes with my head down whilst I was on it. The worse thing was my boys loved it! So much that they wanted to go on again. Harry normally steers away from rides like this so I wanted to encourage his new found bravery so I pretended I also loved it and went on again! When we came off the lady who operates the ride and a couple of sensible parents watching who had let their children go on, on their own, had a giggle at me and one commented that I looked green! I felt awful for a good couple of hours after.

The funny thing is that Harry suffers with motion sickness normally, in cars anyway, but the ride didn’t bother him. Anyway, on our next visit to Aussie World I will be one of the sensible parents stood watching the kids enjoy the ride.

I use the wrist bands on Harry when travelling in the car they seem to work well. I have also used them in the past for morning sickness.
