My Mom and Dad have gone home
My Mom and Dad went back to the UK on Sunday after a 5 week stay. That day is always hard, saying Goodbye. The last 2 days of the stay always have an unspoken cloud over them – the dread of saying Goodbye. We all know now that it is for the best that we live in Australia. My youngest Sam hardly ever suffers with his asthma here and his eczema has cleared up, but it still does not make it easy.
Anyway, there were no tears (at least until we had parted) apart from Harry, my 6 year old who did get a bit upset. When we have said our Goodbye’s we always go to the window and say that the next aircraft to take off will have Grandma and Grandad on it (even though they are not due to leave for an hour or so) and we all we all wave Goodbye. The house does feel a lot emptier now and we are already counting the days until October when they return.
I have included in the post a few of the pics that we took whilst they were here.

Awww, that’s rough. But if it makes you feel better, having your parents around for 24/7 five weeks straight is a much better quality visit than just driving over for a short visit, spending a couple of hours, then driving home again.
When your parents stay with you, you are able to having much better, more in-depth conversations. It’s great that they are able to make the trips to visit and get to know your boys so well.
