Ovulation on Clomid – On my 2nd month
Just thought I would do a quick post about where we are at with trying for a baby. It’s just not happening at the moment. My fertility specialist, Paul Stokes has found out that I don’t ovulate every month so he started me on Clomid about 6 weeks ago. I am now on my second month’s course. He has also given me a temperature chart and told me to take my temperature every morning before I get out of bed. I have been a really good girl remembering to do this so far – only missed 1 day.
For the first month I had to take half a tablet for 4 days. This started on day 2 through to day 6. He also gave me the days that I would be fertile, which were days 12, 13, 14 and 15. I then had to go for a blood test on day 21 (New Year’s Eve) which would let him know whether or not I did ovulate. Normally my cycle runs to around day 31 now, but I started my period early on day 25 and sorry for the details but it was mainly brown blood. I telephoned Paul Stokes who said he wanted to see me that day. He confimed from the blood test results that he had recieved back from New Years Eve that I had ovulated. He looked at my temperature chart and told me to come back in a couple of days when he would get a better idea if this was my normal period.
When I went back he told me to take a full tablet of Clomid starting that day for 5 consecutive days and gave me some days to try to conceive. Again I have to go for a blood test to confirm ovulaton but this is on day 22 this month. I am booked in to see Paul again on day 30 unless my period comes before.
Occasionally I experience stomach cramps or a minor headache from the Clomid. Just hoping this will be our month – it would be a good start to the New Year.
